Endovenous Laser Therapy

EVLT (Endovenous Laser Therapy) is a quick, minimally invasive laser treatment, FDA-approved technique using ultrasound guidance.  Carefully controlled laser energy is then directed at the vein wall, which seals and closes it.  During the procedure, the involved area of your leg is anesthetized and laser energy is then delivered to damage and eventually eliminate the varicose veins.

There are many veins in the leg and after the treatment the blood in the faulty veins will be diverted to normal veins with functional valves. The increase in circulation will significantly relieve symptoms and improve appearance.

EVLT leaves no scarring, and allows patients to return to normal activities as soon as the next day.  EVLT is a highly effective way to treat venous reflux disease and getting rid of varicose veins. This relieves the varicose leg pain as well.

Once the laser energy has been applied a compression stocking is put on your leg. Walking immediately after the procedure is encouraged. Normal daily activity can be resumed. There may be minor soreness and bruising. Any discomfort can be treated with over-the-counter, non-aspirin pain relievers as needed. This is a very quick, minimally invasive therapy which has little or no side effects. The results are immediate and visible to the patient. This treatment has proven very effective in eliminating varicose veins and is very safe.

Published clinical studies show that EVLT has a 98% initial success rate with excellent long-term results.
